Description

French Course Part 6 – A French Vocabulary – Horan & Wheeler – ©2020 – 2025

NB: Available NOW in these formats – Kindle eBook and Print on demand Paperback & HardCover.

French Course Part 6 – A French Vocabulary – Horan & Wheeler – Kindle Edition ©2020The vocabulary in this book is drawn from the first three parts of A New French Course. Within each part, the words have been grouped according to topics (school, farm, -er verbs, etc.) and an index at the back of the book enables the student to revise a particular section of vocabulary. For example, if a student wishes to revise or refer to -er verbs, he will find, by consulting the index, that these are listed in Groups 41-47 in Part 1, in Groups 35-40 in Part 2, and in Groups 70-79 and 88-91 in Part 3.

For the student commencing the study of a foreign language, very little pleasure, and in many cases little benefit, is derived from translating into French whole sets of sentences and grammatical exercises. Hence this aspect of language work occupies only a minor place in this book which breaks with the traditional grammar and translation approach. The principal objectives are to get the student to understand the simple spoken word, to be able to say simple things with a reasonably good accent, and to comprehend what he reads.

It is sincerely hoped that this book will provide students with a sound foundation in French which will enable them to further their study of the language.

lt is hoped that the book will facilitate the acquisition of a sound basic vocabulary.
